Eating raw allows the body to gradually expel toxins without extreme measures. You won't feel starved but at the same time you're choosing foods that are loaded with nutrients and enzymes because none of them have been lost in the cooking process. Your body is also free of foods that are difficult to digest like meat, dairy, added sugars, and anything processed, giving your internal organs a rest. Raw foods tend to be fibrous and move through your system efficiently, pushing out undigested food matter.

Living foods are full of enzyme activity. Enzymes help you digest food and are the catalysts for every metabolic reaction in your body. Without these enzymes, there can be no cell division, energy production or brain activity.
Only uncooked and unprocessed foods can provide us with the full range of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, oxygen, fiber and other nutrients our bodies require to run like a well-oiled machine. Living foods are the key to health and nutrition, and in turn, fuel optimal performance.
Living foods give life. Put an orange or avocado into the earth, and a tree or plant will grow from it. Many health experts believe living and raw foods are the key to good health and longevity.
OXYGEN is one of our most important nutrients. In urban centers with fewer trees and more pollution, there’s less oxygen. Oxygen is more available in uncooked food. Fresh fruit and vegetables are up to 90 percent water and 60 percent oxygen. It’s already been proven that CANCER can’t exist in highly oxygenated environments!!!!
Water is the basis of life. Our blood is more than 80 percent water, and our liver is 96 percent water. Water from fresh fruits and vegetables helps our body flush out toxins we’re exposed to in our air, processed or nonorganic food, and things we touch.
Organic foods are more nutritious and kinder to our bodies than conventionally grown foods. They contain more vitamins and minerals, and more nutrition per spoonful because they’re farmed on mineral rich soils. Organic foods don’t use chemicals like pesticides or fertilizers – and that’s healthier for our bodies. Pesticides and herbicides reduce soil nutrients and kill all the beneficial organisms in the soil.

RAW SWEET POTATO PIE(new**)
Almond Date Crust 1 1/4 Cup almonds 1 Cup date pieces 1 Tablespoon water 1/2 teaspoon vanilla dash of cinnamon 2 teaspoons psyllium ** the almonds should be soaked overnight for this makes them easier to blend for better crust try to dehydrate them in sun or in a dehydrator (optional you can use soaked almonds or try the crust from the key lime pie recipe) Filling( feel free to substitute or use an alternative to an ingredient if you cant get one in the recipe) 6 small medium yams, peeled and cut up 3/4 Cup cut up pitted dates (soak whole dates for 20 minutes before pitting and cutting up) 1/4 Cup raisins (soak for 20 minutes) 1/2 Cup Pine Nuts (soaked 5-10 minutes) 1/8 teaspoon 5 spice powder 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon Garam masala (if not available use either nutmeg or cloves or additional 5 spice powder) 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 2 Tablespoons Psyllium powder FOR CRUST: In food processor blender process nuts until coarsely ground, add dates and process until finely ground and thoroughly mixed. With processor /blender running, add water, vanilla, and cinnamon. When mixture is holding together, gradually add psyllium. Press into pie plate. Note: crust must appear slightly damp and be holding together before psyllium should be added, a small amount of additional water may be necessary to achieve this effect. Note: For a crunchier taste treat, at this point you can dehydrate the crust in the sun for 1-3 hours, but it is not necessary. FOR FILLING: While preparing yams, soak dates and raisins in small amount of water. Soak pine nuts and rinse. Put yams blender/processor alternating with fruit and nuts. It should amount to about 4 cups. (If not add more yam and continue to blend /processPut mixture in food processor./ blender Add spices and vanilla. Be patient with processing, the smoother the better. After 5-6 minutes, if not very smooth add a small amount of raisin soak water, apple juice or orange juice to the mixture so it will process to a smooth puree. Gradually add psyllium. Pour into crust immediately. Store in refrigerator. for a few hours 1-2 top with left over crushed nuts or dried unsweetened coconuts(shredded) Note: do not add extra liquid unless you have to, it is important that the pie hold together so it can't be too wet. Alternative: If you want more intense flavor, soak fruit in juice of 1 orange. Add 1 teaspoon orange zest to mixture. Increase spices to: 1/4 teaspoon 5 spice powder, 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon, garam masala stays the same, a pinch of clove, 1 teaspoon vanilla, a pinch of sea salt. Banana Berry Smoothieingredients:
